Malta
If the sun is what you’re chasing, Malta is the place to head in 2018. This Mediterranean nation averages more than 300 days of sunshine every year, with plenty of beaches around to soak it up. The nation is culturally rich with various prehistoric and 17th century structures including temples, catacombs and air-raid shelters. For lovers of all things art, Malta’s capital city, Valletta, is set to be the European Capital of Culture for 2018, so expect to see Baroque masterpieces, numerous international film festivals and plenty of contemporary art.
Cuba
A place unlike any other, Cuba is a must-see for any travel fanatics out there. The colourful, historically rich, cobbled streets of Havana will transport you back to the 1950s as you ride in a classic Cadillac, see some classic architecture and try a little salsa dancing. Being a part of the Caribbean you have to spend at least one day lying around on their pristine, postcard perfect beaches, but if you’re looking to get out of the city, you can explore the beautiful and lush surrounding countryside of Vinale.
